The Hook In is coming! The Hook In is coming!
The Rug Hookers of the Finger Lakes are pleased to announce their Biennial Hook In will take place at Genesee Country Village & Museum, a wonderful living history museum located in Mumford, NY on May 12, 2018. This is one of the premier destinations for local history in this area and is full of charming buildings and wonderful characters in a picturesque rural setting.
We are excited to be partnering with the museum to hold the Hook In onsite at GCV&M. We will have a rug show including antique rugs owned by the museum as well as our own member rugs. Lunch will be available by prepurchase (see the registration form on the "Get In Touch" page.)
We will have wonderful vendors (see the list on the HOOKED IN HISTORY 2018 page) as well as a wonderful speaker, who has written the dye columns for Rug Hooking Magazine for many years. She is also the inspirationist of thewelcomemat.ca and has recently penned a book titled "The Color Lab - Color Cues for Rug Hookers" which will be released at the end of February by Rug Hooking Magazine. There will be a talk with colorful anecdotes (see what I did there?) and also time for color and problem solving.
Cost is $10 for the hookin and $20 for lunch for a total of $30. Lunch will be provided by the Village Inn in Caledonia. (see the registration form on the "Get in Touch" page for more information).
Pre-order a Honeydoo Cutter or cartridge and we can have it available for delivery at the show. www.honeydoocutters.com
